Our History

Baby Alive® was first introduced in 1973, under legendary toy creator Kenner. While dolls back then were just baby-shaped lumps of plastic, Kenner had a vision for creating the most lifelike baby anyone had ever seen.

Using innovative technology and detailed sculpting, they unveiled the very first drink and wet doll – Baby Alive® – sparking a new era of nurturing play for kids. For the first time, children could mix up a bottle, feed their doll, and care for it when it needed a diaper change.

Kids went crazy for this incredibly life-like doll that acted just like a real baby. Baby Alive® was a massive success, showing that children yearned for a nurturing play experience that felt as close to real parenting as possible.

Our Quality & Safety Promise

Our number one priority at Baby Alive® is creating dolls that are completely safe for play. We adhere to strict global safety standards and rigorously test all our dolls before they go to market.

In the design process, we use high-quality, non-toxic materials carefully selected to withstand regular use. Durability and stain resistance ensure our dolls maintain their beauty even with messy eating and diaper play.

We meticulously engineer our mechanical features like eyes, mouths, and limbs to open/close smoothly without pinching fingers. All edges are rounded and seam allowances eliminated for a completely safe play experience.

Our sound features stay within safe decibel levels and timers prevent overuse. Food, diapers and accessories are made from non-toxic household materials safe for kids.

Once built, all dolls undergo safety tests including:
